- Going back to 1500 years ago, it is said that Emperor Keitai moved to Neo, Motosu City from Owarinokuni Ichinomiya. In taking the Emperor's throne, when he left Neo, as a memorial gift, he planted the Usuzumi cherryblossom.
- A pleasant walk amongst large trees and early blooming spring flowers.
The 60km course follows the legend of the Usuzumi cherryblossom and the journey of Emperor Keitai when he walked from Masumida shrine, Ichinomiya to Neodani, Motosu city. Day 1 covers a portion of the course with distances of 5km, 13km, 30km. And on Day 2, two courses take in the culture and history of the Motosu city area.

This event follows the course of the Emperor Teikoku and the Usumi sakura trees. However the cherryblossoms won't yet be bloom at the time of this event. The Uszumi cherryblossom trees usually bloom mid-late April.

Important points to note when registering
Elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (separate registration is required).
Participants who register for the first day of the event, will receive free entry for the second day's events.
It is also OK to enter just one of the days.

Things to bring | Participant confirmation notice (postcard), health insurance card, water/drink, your own cup, rain gear, hat, towel etc. Water supply stations are provided on each course. To be environmentally friendly, paper/plastic cups are not provided. Please bring your own cup. Umbrellas whilst walking are forbidden during the event. In the event of rain on the day, please bring and use raincoats and rain protective clothing. |
Other | Baggage can be kept at the start point and will be available for pick up at the goal/finish line. However we will not look after valuables. Please pick up your baggage by 7pm on Day 1, and by 2pm on Day 2. On the first day, a free shuttle bus will run from Usuzumi Park to Tarumi station. The last departure from Usuzumi Park is 6:45pm. The course route may be changed depending on the weather. |

Important points to note | Advance registration deadline Payment to be made by 28 February 2019. After the advance registration deadline has passed, you will only be able to register on the day. After registration is complete, no refund of entry fee is possible. Information collected at the time of registration will only be used for the purposes of the management of this event. Walking rules Observe the traffic rules/regulations and follow the instructions/directions of event staff. Please wear appropriate walking shoes and clothing. You cannot depart before the start time. At the Start, a start confirmation sticker will be distributed. Please check the location of the toilets on the map, and use as soon as possible. Please take and carry all rubbish with you. Please do not litter. Disclaimer Participants should participate with full responsibility for their health management. In the event of an accident, the Race Organiser accepts no responsibility other than basic emergency first aid response in accordance with the limits of the accident insurance policy that the event is covered by. Please note the event may be cancelled in the event of unforeseen circumstances (such as natural disaster, bad weather etc). In such a situation, the event programme and materials will be mailed out, but the entry free will not be refunded and a completion/finisher's certificate cannot be provided. |
This event is not a competition. Whilst abiding by the traffic rules and enjoying nature, the aim is to reach the goal/finish line by 6:30pm on day 1 and by 2pm on day 2. Please follow instructions and directions from event staff Participants who can't abide by traffic rules and proper conduct as pedestrians will be disqualified and the entry cancelled. If you expect that you won't be able to make the goal/finish line within the designated time limit, please call the below number. To ensure everyone's safety and account for everyone, if you decide to withdraw, or drop out during the event, please be sure to contact the following number below and inform us.
