Participant eligibility criteria: | Those who agree to abide by the event rules, traffic laws and regulations and act with good manners. All participants are welcome regardless of nationality, age, gender etc. However infants and young children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and those with disabilities must be accompanied by a caretaker. * For the Sekkaku walk, applications for lunch boxes (bento) is only available for Japanese people. Because of food allergies, vegetarians, dietary requirements, applications for lunch boxes from people from overseas in the Sekkaku walk will not be accepted. |

Benefits of advance registration | If you apply by 2 March (Saturday) there will be a lottery for 50 winners who will receive prizes (walking shoes by Moon Star World and Asahi Medical Walk). Prize winners will be notified when the race confirmation/information notice is mailed out. In addition, the lucky prize winners' names will also be published (if you do not wish for your name to be published, please indicate below at the Contact information notes. |

Transportation to the race venue | (1) For those coming by plane From Fukuoka airport, there is a highway bus than runs to Kurume city Required time is approx. 45min. One-way fare is 1230yen Once on the highway bus, alight at Bunka centre mae, which is then an 8min walk to the race venue. You can also take the Fukuoka city subway system from Fukuoka airport train station/ From Hakata station take the JR Kyushu shinkansen line of the Kagoshima main line. You can also use the Nishitetsu tenjin omuta line from Tenjin station. (2) For those coming by shinkansen (bullet train) or JR train Please take the Nishitetsu bus from the JR Kurume station bus stop Bus numbers: 1, 9, 20, 22, 23, 25, 40 The closest bus stop to the event venue is Gokokujinja (Gokoku Shrine). Bus ride is about 15min. Bus fare is 170yen. From the bus stop, it's a 3-minute walk to the venue. On Saturdays, the first bus departs at 6:32am. On the Sunday the first bus departs at 6:51am. Buses will run every 10 minutes. (3) For those using the Nishitetsu train line Alight at Nishitetsu Kurume station, it's a 10minute walk. Please refer to (2) above - Access from JR Kurume station for bus services Gokoku Shrine bus stop is the next stop after the Nishitetsu Kurume station bus terminal. (Approx. travel time is 3min) Also, there's another bus stop near the start venue. Alight at Shonen Science Museum bus stop if taking the buses bound for T Joy Kurume or Yume Town Kurume. From 7:34am, there are 4 buses that run per hour. For those coming by car/driving Please use the carpark that is by the Chikugo river For group/charter buses, please contact the event committee secretariat for arrangements Since carpark slots are limited, we encourage you to please use public transport. Important points to note | - Personal information Regarding the use/protection of participant person information, we will manage your personal information strictly and confidentially. Your information will be used to inform/update you of the next event and to collate the award candidates for the Japan Marching League and the Kyushu Marching League. - Portrait/image rights Please note that photos/images of you may be taken during the event and may be used for marketing purposes (eg event advertisement) published in the media or for print purpose etc. Your participation in this event, means that you consent to this. - Scope of disclaimer/waiver Participants are responsible for undergoing a medical health check up before the event and to ensure that they are in good physical condition for such an undertaking. In the event of an accident, compensation will be provided to the extent that it is within the scope of insurance covered for by the event organiser. - Forbidden behaviour/actions It is prohibited to bring the following items: bulletin boards, poster signs, banners, placards, bibs, drawings, other printed materials to the event or along the event course etc, which fall into the deemed prohibited contents by the event committee in the list below The bringing of and use of such materials and behaviour which violates this is prohibited. 1) Expression, display of or association with any religious, political, ideological or racial assertions or ideas. 2) discriminatory and/or offensive content and expression 3) Anything else that may interfere with the operation/running of the event. - Event cancellation In the interests of safety and convenience to participants, in the event of a natural disaster, bad weather, epidemic diseases, other conditions which may affect the event, the event may be cancelled. Contract | - Participant terms and conditions In the event of injury, loss or accident, the race organiser does not accept any responsibility or liability except in the case of providing emergency medical attention. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are in satisfactory health condition to be able to participate in this event, such as having a medical check-up in advance, consulting with your doctor etc. Please bring your health insurance card on the day. Cancellation is not permitted once you have registered/paid. The event organiser reserves the right to cancel, vary or reduce the course distances, in the event of an earthquake, strong wind, flood, heavy snow, accident, incident or epidemic disease etc. In such case there will be no refund (partial nor full) of the registration fee. We do not provide compensation for your expenses incurred such as accommodation and travel etc. The event organiser reserves the right to use any image rights taken during the course of the event. This includes pictures, photos, articles, records etc for use in newspapers, magazines, online (Internet), pamphlets etc. The event committee will handle personal information strictly in accordance with the relevant laws and policies regarding personal information. |
Other items | - Do not forget to bring your participant registration/notification card. Please also bring your own water/drink supplies, raingear, hat, health insurance card etc. - The event will proceed in the case of rain. The event will be cancelled in the case of typhoon or extreme bad weather. - Participants should check the course map carefully. Your participation in the registered course is at your own risk. - At this event, please walk at your own pace at an appropriate rate/speed for you. Please take breaks as needed as your leisure. It is completely up to you when, where and how many times you take a break. This is a free-style walking event. - Please don't forget to check in at the designated check-in points. - The finish goal hours are between 11:30am - 5pm. Please note that you will not be able to check-in after this time. - If you are injured or feel unwell, please contact staff as soon as possible. |
