- This seasonal event is a prime opportunity to see the Imperial Palace amongst fresh greenery.
- The 5km distance option can be walked.
This running event allows you to see the Imperial Palace at its finest in the early spring with fresh greenery. The start and end point is at the Sakuradamon Gate (at the southern end of the Imperial Palace). One loop of the Palace is 5km. Race distance options are 5km (1 lap), 10km (2 laps), 20km (4 laps), and a 4-person relay (4 laps). There are no changing rooms or luggage and valuables storage facilities, so please use the nearby running stations in the area.
The Tokyo Imperial Palace loop is one of the city's most popular and central jogging course. The sidewalk is used by many runners and walkers day and night. The course in itself is a popular tourist attraction taking in sights such as government offices, art museums, European architecture, and, of course, the Imperial Palace and gardens.
In late April, the Imperial Palace is particularly popular with many tourists and visitors who come to see the cherryblossoms in full bloom and the lust greenery. We also recommend talking a walk through the attached parks and gardens.
